1. You can make a difference

Many people want to put restrictions on themselves because of their age, talent, experience, or intelligence. But Mal would say – “You can make a difference.”

2. Never give up

Mal was relentless – the bible illustrates this principle by speaking of the locust. When the locusts come they are literally unstoppable – no fire, ditch, wall or defence can restrain them – they teach us never to quit and never to give up! Similarly, Mal was relentless in his passion to serve people, relentless in his desire to make things better.

3. Go the extra mile

Mal was an extra mile man. He went way beyond that which people would expect of him – embodying the mission of this church “To love God and to love people.”

4. There is potential in everything and everyone

Mal loved and believed in people. He was not a throw away person – he never wrote anything or anyone off.
